Genesis Software completes commissioning of the Jinju VHF Ionospheric radar in Busan, South Korea.
This innovative installation is a dual system with a 24 element transceiver array in a 3x8 configuration (combined 3:1 to 8 receivers) in conjunction with a 4x5 receive only array (with a no combining).
Genesis Software supplied the transceivers, receivers, data acquisition and antenna systems as well as all of the RF cabling. We installed the antennas on site and configured and calibrated the system on site with assistance from local personnel who built the site and equipment hut.
The transceiver based system allows for phased array operation with arbitrary phasing of each antenna (0 to 360 degrees, <1 degree resolution) to perform pulse to pulse beam steering.
Custom analysis and display software was authored to provide the customer with plots and data updated every 10 minutes to feed into the data pipeline.
