Commissioning of the bistatic NCU Ionosonde in Taiwan September 2019

Genesis Software completes remote commissioning of the bistatic NCU Ionosonde in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Broadband inverted-V antenna

This new design uses a linear 600W transmitter to sweep a 16-bit complementary 25.6µsec chip width at 8192µsec IPP from 2 to 30MHz.

Transmit & receive cabinets

An innovative output filter design gives the system extremely good spectral occupancy, spurious and harmonic performance.

The transmit and receive subsystems are independent and synchronised using GNS synchronised Rubidium standards to allow bistatic operation. Radar control software allows the systems to be run isolated while operating in synchrony at arbitrary frequency and offset during the day.

Genesis Software provided the transmitter, receiver, control software and supplied a Werlatone combiner and Broadband Propagation antenna system.
